REDSHIFT
Redshift, installation view, 2018
REDSHIFT is a series of drawings that examines the post-facts condition and its role in the mythology of whiteness. The work confronts the “imaging” of criminality, and the patterns of violence throughout our American history. The installation features a new series of portraits of the American men and women who have attempted (successfully or not) to assassinate sitting Presidents of the United States. These monochromatic ink drawings are set against a fragmented and mediated image of the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville in August 2017.
